Travertine
Travertine is a popular sedimentary building stone, sometimes influenced by surface volcanic activity or mild metamorphism in certain regions.
It has a layered, porous texture and a specific gravity ranging from 2,400 to 2,600 kg/m³. Common colors include white, cream, beige, silver, chocolate, and gray.
Travertine is widely used in exterior façades, interior walls, elevator surrounds, columns, and semi-indoor spaces. It comes in various sizes, from tiles to large slabs, and is available in finishes such as polished, honed (matte), leathered, and bush-hammered. To create a smoother, more uniform surface, its natural pores are often filled with materials like resin, epoxy, mastic, or colored cements. Travertine is produced and supplied in both tile and slab formats.
